2010 Compulsory Qualifier
Take the Pot Tournament
1 – 2 May 2010
This tournament allows adults to compete in a tournament to fill in time while the juniors are competing and also to allow players in the Under 17 age group to play a second grade without combining Boys and Girls since there is a lack of Under 19 players due to university commitments.
Cost
Cost is $20 to play. $10 will be put in the pot and the other $10 is to pay the court hire.
Format
The tournament will be played on a Swiss Draw format.
The "POT" will be split into two grades — A and B Grade. B Grade will be winner of the bottom half of the draw and A Grade the top half. There will be only a winner in each grade.
It may become apparent who the winner may be, but the idea is to create a fun week-end as well as enable the juniors to gain experience from playing the seniors.
Scoring
The new format played by juniors will be used:
Best of 5 games to 11 point a rally scoring. Tie break at 10 all — you have to win by two points to win the game.
