The third Northern Region Junior Qualifier, the 2018 Townsville Junior Squash Championships, will be hosted at the West Squash Club on the 17th to 18th March 2018.
The 2018 Townsville Junior Squash Championships is a Bronze regional junior tournament.
Players need to compete in both compulsory tournaments in Cairns and Mackay and either Ingham or Townsville tournaments to be eligible for selection on the Northern Region Redbacks team, which will compete in the Queensland regional teams event at the 2018 Queensland Junior Championships (QJC).
Games may be scheduled for Friday evening for available players. Otherwise players are expected to be available between 8:30am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday except with prior approval.
The Townsville Junior Squash Championships will commence at 8.30am sharp on both days. Players are to be present and checked in with Tournament Control 30 MINUTES before the scheduled time of their match. Game scheduling is an estimate of game times. Please be aware we will be “following on”.
The tournament promises to be a fun event for all junior players.
FREE Saturday Night dinner will be provided by Dominos and the Northern Region.
Venue: Riverway Lagoons and Playgrounds, Pioneer Park at the intersection of Ross River Road and Thuringowa/River Road Drive.
Continuing on from the success in Ingham and Cairns, there are two new features at the Northern Region Tournaments:
1) Two tiers – an aged championship, alongside a novice graded competition.
This will encourage and inspire new players to the sport and tournaments.
2) Doubles team nominations & matches for Aged Championship Players only.
ENTRY FEES:
Aged Championship Entry Fee – 1 Event $40, 2 Events $50
Doubles (for Aged Championship Players only) – $5
Graded (Player’s eligibility will be determined by the Tournament Director) – $10 Affiliated, $20 Unaffiliated
Minimum of 3 matches.
